Our Neighbourhood
As you leave our quite, small street at the center of the village (where Boomerang Studios are situated), you will find yourself on the main shopping district. Before you know it you'll be walking in-between rows of shops selling anything and everything: from souvenirs jewellery and clothing, yummy Greek fruit and vegetables, to traditional local produce - honey, candied sweets, Thassian style marinated olives and that beautifully smelling and divinely tasting Thassian cold pressed virgin olive oil.
A further couple of steps away, and you are on the Potos beach. If you were to find yourself there on a clear day, you will be able set your eyes on some of the most sacred land of the Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Hidden behind the sea mist from the eyes of the curious tourist crowds during most of the peak-season months (July - August), some 50 km south of Potos across the Aegean waters lies the intriguing monastic state of Mount Athos, the "Holy Mountain". Today Mount Athos is a home to over 20 orthodox monasteries and nearly 2000 monks, and presents a one-of-its-kind place in the whole world.
Returning to the buzz of the modern world: we are back at the Potos promenade, where a string of cafes and tavernas lines the sandy beach. Our Boomerang Bar is one of those places where you can enjoy the Potos beach's fine sand and clear water. Anyone who has a drink or a breakfast at the Boomerang Bar, or on the part of beach that we are serving is welcomed to use our sunbeds and umbrellas free of charge.
We are proud of making a great effort to keep our "Boomerang Beach" clean at all times. We are kindly inviting you, are dear guests, to help us to do so by responsibly using the beach.
At night when the dreamy beach of Potos transforms into a vibrant promenade we will offer you at our Boomerang Bar a good atmosphere, great music, good variety of original branded spirits, ice cold draught beer, cocktails to die for, juices and ice creams for the kids and those who feel young at heart. You will be welcomed by our happy go lucky team. It will be your chance to meet up, close & personal the "Aussie" (Australian) Greeks - Boomerang Studios owner,"Boomerang Papa" Alex, and his son Abe.
Once you get hungry you'll be happy to learn that there is something in Potos for everyone's taste buds and wallets: from Greek specialties traditional dishes, fresh seafood, to snack bars with favorite Greek fast food - gyros, pizzerias, and bakeries.
Those of you who thrive on being active during your holidays will have plenty of opportunity in Potos to choose from: diving excursions with professionals, water sports, beach volley, mountain bike rides in the wilderness of the inner-island area, long walks, etc.
There is an ATM machine in the vicinity of Boomerang Studios, if carrying cash with you is not your thing. The nearest bank is 4 km away, at the neighboring village of Limenaria. Also, when staying with us at our Boomerang Studios, you will be conveniently a few steps away from supermarkets, butcher's, kiosk or bus station, and it won't take more than a 5 min walk to get to the doctor's practice.
